Looking back over the years, one cannot ignore the illustrious names that embellish Vasco Club history.
Many of these have made a huge contribution to the Club's fame until the mid 80's and have served as an inspiration to its present components who are striving to raise the standards even higher.
It would be impossible to enumerate everyone who left an indelible mark on the memories of the fans who avidly followed the fortunes of
Vasco club.
But if we have to single out those who really left an indelible impression over the last 50 years, we must start with the late B M Parkkot. He was not only the chief patron of the club, but a man with a vision for the club.
Some of the truly outstanding players of the club he helped recruit were Avinder Singh, E N Sudhir, Alexinho Fernandes and others who were
brilliant in goal.
Rosario Menezes, Bharatan, T K Chatunni, George Ambrose marshalled the defense admirably for the club during their time.
While in the midfield the club had excellent play makers of the likes of O K Satyan, George Rosemond, Vallabh Mahambrey and Andrew Fernandes.
Vasco's roll call of illustrious forwards included the A-B-C-D of Andrew D'Souza, Bernard Pereira, Catao Fernandes and Domnic
Soares.
Having said that, the yeoman service and technical brilliance of Joseph Rahael and Jose Fernandes among scores of others must be applauded.
